If you remember Twiggy, the super skinny model of the 1960s, this year's Mod fashion trend is going to look familiar. But there's a bit of this millennium in the throwback thanks to designers like Stella McCartney and Dolce & Gabbana.
The fashion experts at www.style.com aren't calling the look mod, despite its trademark newsboy caps, stripey sweaters and flat- heeled crocodile boots. They've given it the name Edie's Sixties. It's a nod to Edie Sedgwick, an Andy Warhol superstar and Midwest- born version of Twiggy best described as all lashes and legs.
Trends might seem like they are cycling back more quickly than ever black never really went out of style and yet it's been designated as "back" this season but there is an advisory. Each reconditioned trend gets a bit of a contemporary facelift, even if it's a sleeveless chunky sweater paired with embroidered jeans or the cut of a pair of pants that's been updated for the season.
