French Couture
ELECTIC, daring and sophisticated are three adjectives that come to mind when pondering the 2001-2002 French couture collections. These one-of-a-kind creations are exquisitely tailored individually by hand and the craftsmanship is evident in the finished products. Christian Lacroix's creations are edge conversation pieces that combine various design elements to create an aura of fantasy and fun. Jean-Louis Scherrer also struts on the edge with a dazzling printed beaver coat generously bordered in fox fur, paired with an all-over beaded jumpsuit. Dominique Sirop's daring beaded halter leaves little to the imagination, while Emanuel Ungaro's sassy, voluminous sarong ensemble exudes sophistication and pizzazz. For the daring, elegant and well-dressed woman with places to go and people to see, there are great choices that will take her fashion-forward in a hurry. Get an up-close look at these and other great designs when the Ebony Fashion Fair show comes to your area.
